Crescent Rolls with Marshmallow Ingredients
- 1 can of buttery crescent rolls
- 8 large marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
What brand of marshmallow do you use?
I honestly just use whatever is on sale! We shop at our Kroger grocery store most of the time, so we buy the store brand.
Can I use margarine instead?
Yes, this would be an acceptable substitution for this recipe.
Do I have to use honey butter?
Nope! We like the added tastiness that it adds to the exterior of the rolls, but this is completely optional.
Can I use mini marshmallows for Resurrection Rolls?
I wouldn’t recommend it. And the giant-sized ones will be too big. Stick with your regular-sized marshmallows for this one.
What is the Resurrection Roll Story?
The empty tomb rolls are meant to symbolize Christ not being found in the tomb after he was resurrected. Some people like to tell the Easter story as they make them with their family. You can explain how Christ’s body wasn’t in the tomb after the resurrection but just like the rolls have become sweet- so is death because all of us can live again because He Is Risen.
What can I serve with Resurrection Rolls?
Because these rolls are typically made around Easter we would suggest serving them with anything you would eat for your Easter feast.
This might include:
- Easy Instant Pot Ham
- Sweet Instant Pot Carrots
- Funeral Potatoes
- Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
- Jello
- Collard Greens
- Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
- Veggie Platter
- Sweet Potato Casserole
Are Resurrection Rolls a dessert?
Because they are sweet they could be considered a dessert or a pastry. However, they aren’t so sweet that they can’t be enjoyed alongside dinner, especially since Easter tends to bring out more savory recipes!
Can I make Resurrection Rolls in advance?
Yep! You can prep them beforehand just keep them in the refrigerator and bake them within 24 hours.
