Texas Roadhouse Butter Recipe

There are few things more delightful than the Texas Roadhouse butter. It’s slightly sweetened with honey and has just enough cinnamon. This is the best copycat recipe out there!

I don’t know about you, but the main reason I go to Texas Roadhouse is so I can slather some of their cinnamon butter on top of one of the famous Texas Roadhouse rolls. I’m salivating just thinking about it!

There’s just something about the Texas Roadhouse butter that is SO delicious. It’s so creamy and airy tasting – and it just pairs perfectly with their amazing rolls.

Every time we get it, I just think, “Wow….I need to have this in the fridge at all times!” so I made this copycat version.

Honey Butter Recipe

Equipment

Stand Mixer (Kitchen Aid or Bosch) OR a hand mixer

Whisk attachment for your mixer

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon honey

Directions

  1. Add whipping cream and salt to the bowl of your stand mixer or a large bowl if you are using a hand mixer.
  2. Start at a slow speed but quickly turn it up to medium speed. Whip until it resembles whipped cream.
  3. Add cinnamon and honey.
  4. Continue whipping until it is at a whipped butter stage – it shouldn’t be super thick, but it shouldn’t feel like it’s whipped cream anywhere. It should still be airy and easy to spread.
  5. Use immediately or store in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks

Can I use butter instead of starting with cream?

whipped cinnamon butter

I saw some different recipes out there, but they all called for starting with a stick of butter. With how creamy and whipped the butter ends up being, I felt like heavy cream was necessary to get this consistency.

It takes a little more time and care to use cream, but I promise it’s worth it. However, if you don’t have cream, you could use butter.

What type of honey did you use?

We actually used some honey from some friends of ours who are bee keepers – so I don’t think you’ll be able to replicate that! However, I think any honey will do just fine in this recipe.

How long will this stay good in the refrigerator?

When stored in an airtight container, it should be good for 1-2 weeks, maybe longer. Just make sure you smell it before you use it to ensure it hasn’t gone bad.

Why is there a varying amount of cinnamon in the recipe?

The Texas Roadhouse cinnamon butter recipe is actually quite subtle with the amount of cinnamon in it. We found that 1 teaspoon was a bit more than what you’d find in the restaurant, but some people might like that. We recommend starting with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and adding more if you have to.

Do I have to use an electric mixer?

I do recommend using an electric mixer of some type – I used my Kitchen Aid. However, if you don’t have one and you have some good arm strength and stamina – you could certainly try using a whisk!

What can I use this butter with?

While this was originally developed for the Texas Roadhouse rolls, you can use it on anything you’d like! We love using it on toast, and it would be great with crepes, waffles, or pancakes. The sky is the limit!
