Tamarind Cashew Dipping Sauce Recipe
This tamarind cashew sauce is so delicious and easy to whip together. It has a slight sweet and nutty flavor, and it’s great for so many dishes.
I don’t know about you, but I love a good copycat recipe. This recipe tamarind sauce is based on Cheesecake Factory’s Tamarind Cashew sauce that is served with their avocado egg rolls.
Recipe for Tamarind Sauce
There are a few things better than a delicious sauce. We made this tamarind cashew sauce after absolutely loving the one that they had at Cheesecake Factory.
It took a little bit of trial and error, but I think we came up with a pretty darn delicious sauce that you will LOVE. It’s obviously great with the avocado egg rolls, but you could use it for a variety of other dishes.
What Does Tamarind Taste Like?
The taste of tamarind often depends on what other foods it is combined with – rarely would you eat tamarind on it’s own. It can taste sweet, sour, or even tart! In this recipe, it adds some sweetness to the paid Thai that we used in the recipe, along with the overall dish.
What brand of Pad Thai Sauce did you use?
We used Good & Gather’s brand from Target – it tasted great with this recipe, but you can certainly use other brands. Just make sure it has tamarind in it!
Can I use a blender?
I would really advise against it. We actually attempted to use our Blendtec when making this, but it just didn’t get smooth enough and the cashew’s would not blend correctly. I would definitely use a food processor!

How long will this sauce last in the fridge?
In an air tight container, I would recommend using this sauce within about a week of making it.
Can I freeze this sauce?
While I haven’t tried freezing it myself, I do believe it would freeze well.

You left out the Tamarind in the recipe. We added a heaping teaspoon. It was delicious! Thank you for the recipe;)
I’m so glad you had good success with that, yum! THe tamarind was in the pad Thai sauce used in here, but extra tamarind is always a good idea 🙂
