Homemade Sour Cream and Onion Dip

homemade sour cream and onion dip

I love a good dip – especially when it’s made with sour cream. Sour cream and onion dip is one of my favorites to snack on. While I’m not opposed to buying it from the store, homemade sour cream and onion dip is easy and delicious. Once I made it for the first time, I thought, “Why am I not making this more?!”

I hope your friends and family love this as much as I do!

Recipe Tips and Common Questions:

  • I use Daisy brand sour cream. I like the flavor and that it just has cream and skim milk as the ingredients.
  • Yes, you can use a fat-free or low-fat sour cream. However, I can’t guarantee the taste or results 🙂
  • You can use a yellow onion instead
  • Feel free to use a low-sodium soy sauce (I don’t recommend removing salt altogether – it brings out the other flavors)
  • This dip will last about 3-4 days in the fridge when properly stored.
  • Feel free to serve this dip with potato chips, multigrain chips, vegetables, pita bread, etc.
