Which pretzels are the best to use for this recipe?
Use pretzels that are small and salty. You want the smaller ones because they are much easier to crush. The salt really adds a delicious flavor to the dish. It doesn’t matter if you use the sticks or the classic pretzel shape because it will just get crushed up anyway. Big pretzels are not the best because it is harder to crush and they typically have less salt on them.
Can I use different kinds of Jello?
This recipe is pretty versatile, so yes, you can use different combinations of Jello and fruit. The most common combination though is a red jello like raspberry or strawberry jello with sliced strawberries, but the possibilities are endless. Check out our other Jello salad recipes for some inspiration on jello-fruit combinations that you could use.
Can this be made ahead of time?
Since the Jello needs a few hours to set, this recipe is actually best when it is made at least half a day in advance. This allows for the jello to set and for everything else to keep its shape. This recipe can also last in the fridge for a few days, so you can make it the day before and still be good to go.
How many people does this recipe serve?
It can serve about 10 to 12 people with a nice-sized slice.
How should you store leftovers?
This will be fine to just cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and put it in the fridge for up to 3-5 days. Or you can put it in an airtight container and leave it in the fridge.
