Where did breadsticks originate?

Breadsticks, sometimes known as grissini or gissino, originated in Italy. Though, they have been adapted to American cuisine over the years by taking on a large and fluffy texture.

Original breadsticks were usually the size of a pencil, very crisp and fairly thin.

What frozen pizza dough do you use?

I have used various brands – I personally like the ones that you can get in the refrigerated section that you roll out into sheets. I find that work best for this recipe and makes for a more uniform breadstick.

What is the breadstick seasoning?

Seasoning for breadsticks, like meat, varies based on preference. Some people like the taste of onion on their breadsticks, while others like the tast of garlic on their breadsticks.

For this recipe, the main flavors used to season the breadsticks are garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and different cheeses.
