Apple Snickers Salad
Snickers Apple Salad may seem like an odd combination. You don’t regularly see recipes including candy bars. However, this salad is an unexpected and satiating blend of textures and flavors that is sure to please.
Don’t be surprised if this becomes your next potluck go-to! The ingredients are easy to find and great for a budget, and putting together this dish is a breeze.
Besides, sometimes the best types of salad have no lettuce at all!
Ingredients
- 8 small apples (your favorite variety – we used lunchbox kinds. If you use larger apples, you will probably need less).
- 3.5-ounce instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 8 ounces cool whip
- 2 cups cold milk
- 4 regular-sized Snicker Bars
What kind of Apples Should I use for Snickers and Apples Salad?
A lot of people like using green apples because of their tartness. You really can use whatever variety is your favorite.
We used small lunchbox apples and it turned out delicious!
Can I use another type of pudding?
Sure! You could use butterscotch or even chocolate. We just like the simplicity of the vanilla pudding.
Have you ever tried another type of fruit?
We have not, but some other people have used grapes instead of apples with good success!
Do you have to use a pudding mix?
Not necessarily, but we feel like it wouldn’t have as much flavor or thicken up as nicely.
What are some other variations for this recipe?
Here are a few ways to mix this salad up:
- Use grapes instead of apples
- Add in another kind of candy bar (like Milky Way!)
- Add softened cream cheese for added richness and creaminess

Should this Recipe be Served as a Dessert?

It’s great to serve as dessert, because you can assure it is chilled when you take it right out of the fridge when everyone is ready.
How long does Apple Snickers Salad last?
This salad tastes best the day it is made. If you leave it for too long, the dressing can get runny, and the apple will be less crisp.
If you think this recipe may be too much for the event you are preparing it for, feel free to half the ingredients and prepare the recipe as instructed.
Can you make this salad ahead of time?
Yes! You can make this salad up to 24 hours before you are wanting to serve it. We definitely recommend making it several hours before eating so it can chill in the fridge.
