  • 3 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3 Tablespoons snipped fresh chives
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cups fresh cauliflower florets
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets

Instructions

  1. Fill a stock pot with 8 to 10 cups of water. Place stock pot over high heat and add 1 teaspoon salt. Bring the water to boil. Add the cauliflower and boil for 2 minutes. Then, add the broccoli and continue boiling for 3 minutes. Drain well.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, use a fork to mash together the butter, chives, thyme, lemon peel, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gently, stir in the butter mixture into the vegetables.
