Easy Cinnamon Roll Pumpkins
It’s the Halloween season and this Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll recipe is perfect for your family! Decorate these treats like Jack-O-Lanterns for a fun family Halloween tradition!
How to make Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls
Who doesn’t love the lovely smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven? It is easily one of my favorite scents! With some creativity and experimentation, you can make cinnamon rolls become a family tradition for the Halloween season. By unrolling store-bought cinnamon rolls, forming into pumpkin shapes and adding some food coloring, you can make your cinnamon rolls look like cute (or scary) pumpkins for the whole family to enjoy.
What kind of cinnamon rolls should I buy for this recipe?
In order for this recipe to work, you should get uncooked cinnamon rolls that you can unroll. I buy the store brand cinnamon rolls because I have found that Pillsbury brand cinnamon rolls usually come in one piece.
What kind of food coloring do you use?
I love using Wilton brand gel-based food coloring. It is relatively cheap and can be used in so many different ways. I bought this food coloring off of Amazon at this link and I highly recommend it.
What else can I do with this recipe?
Like other holiday traditions like sugar cookie decorating, pumpkin carving, gingerbread houses and more, with creativity, you can create works of edible art. This recipe is no exception. Your family can have a decorating contest by creating Jack-O-Lantern faces, or you can surprise your neighbors by delivering cute pumpkin shaped cinnamon rolls to them. This is a very versatile and fun recipe so go ahead and make this recipe and idea your new family tradition.

These cinnamon rolls can stay at room temperature for up to two days, but cover it with plastic wrap or tin foil to keep it from going stale. You can also put them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, but I would eat them fresh or very soon after baking.
