How to Cook Instant Pot Rice

I’m pretty sure we eat it at least once a week and it never gets old.
When we were married we received a rice cooker and I’ll admit- we faithfully used it for years.
Until I began my love affair for the Instant Pot and I’ll tell you that I’ll never go back to the rice cooker- or a boiling pot of water again!
Yep. I’m a believer and after using this recipe you will be, too.
The ‘secret’ ingredient is Better than Boullion. You could certainly use regular chicken broth…but I just think this tastes amazing in it!

Can rice go bad? Plenty of rices that have an indefinite shelf life. White, wild, jasmine, and basmati rices are among the many that can last forever if stored in an airtight container.
How can you tell if rice is bad? Uncooked rice is easy to spot. You’ll see mold or bugs- throw it out. If it smells off then it might be spoiled.
Can you freeze cooked rice? Yes. Simply pack up the freshly cooked rice with steam (moisture) in an airtight container and close the lid immediately. Eat within 6 months.
Can you eat cold rice? Yes
How long can you keep rice in the fridge? Rice will stay good for 4-6 if stored in an air tight container.
How do you reheat rice? You can do this by microwaving or heating on the stove. Just add a little bit of water and heat slowly.
How do you defrost frozen rice? Using a microwave is the easiest way to defrost rice quickly. You can also place in a refrigerator over night, or a pot of cold water to soak the rice for 30 minutes.

This is specifically for white rice
1:1 rice to water ratio for white rice
1 teaspoon Better than Bouillon per cup of water
**alternatively you can do chicken broth from a box/can in place of water and better than bouillon
Instructions
Mix water and Better than Bouillon in your instant pot.
Add rice
Place lid on top and set to sealing
Set instant pot for 4 minutes on manual high pressure
Naturally, pressure release for ten minutes
Fluff with a fork and enjoy
