Tortellini Pasta is used to combine the flavors and it is typically served cold. There are many variations of this summer salad but I’ve found that using a few simple ingredients with strong flavors really takes this dish up a notch.
What can I serve with Tortellini Pasta Salad?
This pasta salad is delcious paired with any summertime dish.
Think corn-on-the cob, grilled chicken, hamburgers or hot dogs or just about anything you would have for a BBQ or picnic.
You can also enjoy this salad with other side dishes such as asparagus, sweet potatoes, broccoli or any Jello Salad.
Can I add different ingredients?
Tortellini Pasta salad is very easy to make custom to your own taste.
While we think this dish is delicious as we’ve prepared it you can always switch out the chicken for something like sliced salami, pepperoni, or cooked sausage.
If you don’t like cheese tortellini you can add in your favorite noodle or ravioli- just boil and cook as directed.
Other variations may include olives, artichokes, green peppers or onion.
How to make Tortellini Pasta Salad

Ingredients
- 2 10 oz packages of desired cheese tortellini prepared as package directs
- 2 cups of cooked and shredded chicken
- 8 oz. Pesto Sauce
- 1 cup heirloom cherry tomatoes cut in half
- 8 oz mozzarella balls cut bite sized
- 1 cup roasted bell peppers from a jar cut into ½” pieces
- Fresh basil leaves to top
Instructions
- In a large serving bowl, combine all ingredients (this can be done up to one day ahead and kept in fridge)
- Just before serving, sprinkle fresh basil

How long does Tortellini Pasta last in the fridge?
When properly stored in an airtight container this non-mayo based salad should stay good for 3-5 days.
Can you freeze leftover Pasta Salad?
It is recommended to not freeze this dish. Once it is thawed it most likely will be mushy and not taste as good.
Can you make Tortellini Pasta Salad ahead of time?
Yes! You can prepare this dish up to 24 hours in advance. Simply store in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
You could also prepare and cut your ingredients ahead of time, store separately and then combine right before you are ready to serve as well.
