How do I prep my Potatoes?

After cutting your potatoes into wedges, you will need to soak them in water for 10 minutes.

This helps reduce the amount of starch in the potatoes way more than just rinsing them. Soaking your wedges in water will help achieve maximum crispiness.

You might notice a cloudy aroma at the bottom of your bowl… that would be the starch!

What’s the difference between Roasted Potatoes and French Fries?

When making fries, you completely submerge your sliced potatoes into hot oil. This cooks the potatoes in a matter of minutes.

With roasted potatoes, you will be lightly dressing the wedges in oil and placing them in the oven for half an hour.

This method of cooking potatoes allows you to season them before cooking, and is healthier because you will be using quite a bit less oil.

Why won’t my potatoes soften?

If your potatoes seem to never reach a soft interior, try turning up the temperature of your oven.

Potatoes can remain tough if they are not fully cooked.

Remember, the bigger your wedges are, the longer they will take to soften.

How do you cut a potato wedge?

Once you cut a whole potato in half, always put the flat white inside down on your cutting board to make the next chop.

Keep doing this until your whole potato is cut into 8 wedges for this recipe.

Make sure your slices are all around the same size and thickness so they roast similarly in the oven.
